Lawaai Remixes, 5th Anniversary

This week, it’s 5 years ago that my Lawaai Remix EP was released on Dark Descent!

Lawaai was originally a (heavily distorted) underground track from my 2nd release on Neophyte’s Symp.tom label in 2005, which got a good amount of DJ-support.. even on a few cyber gothic parties!

One of my heroes & friends Embrionyc badly wanted to remix it, and did so on his 2013 album “Not Quite Forgotten”. A few years later, I thought it might be interesting to do an entire remix EP and asked my Symp.tom buddies Mute. and The Relic for additional remixes, as well as one by Demanufacturer. Meanwhile, Embrionyc made a 2nd remix that was heavily experimental, and to put the finishing touch on the project I also made a remix of my own as well as a proper full stereo remaster (my original version had mono distortion due to the limitations of a plugin I used at the time).

Unfortunately, Demanufacturer couldn’t make the deadline in time, so his remix was postponed to be released on my Turmoil EP on the Belgian Traumatic label in 2020.

To celebrate the 5th anniversary of this EP, I’ve put it on my own Bandcamp with a nice discount for the people who don’t have it yet. This complete edition includes two extra bonus tracks; Demanufacturer’s remix and a DJ-friendly (and slightly extended) edit of Embrionyc’s remix that I used in my own DJ-sets. This one can be downloaded for free. Enjoy!

I’m on Bandcamp!

I’ve set up a Bandcamp page of my own and uploaded two exclusive tracks there, for better access:

The remastered version of my “Industry Decay Remix” (2011) was previously only available on my Facebook page, until support for certain page plug-ins was ceased. And “Fragments of Freedom” (2005) was previously only available on the Symp.tom website. Both tracks are, of course, still available for free.

As for my older Symp.tom releases – hopefully someday I’m able to add them to my Bandcamp as well, whenever I re-obtain the music rights from Cloud 9 Music.

Other than that, I don’t have much other music to share on my Bandcamp for now. My releases on Dark Descent, Noisj, Meta4 and Traumatic are still available on their respective Bandcamp sites.

For now; happy downloading!

Faceless Machine

NOISJ125. Warchetype aka Mental Wreckage – Faceless Machine

2020 has not entirely been a shit year, as Mental Wreckage has made a considerable comeback with fine releases on various labels. And Noisj proudly provides one as well – the resurrection of his Warchetype moniker, used for his faster, crossbreed style mixes. Get two rogue tracks here that will fire up any underground set, 170bpm industrial steppers, fierce kicks and distortion galore will have you twitching like a machine!

01. Warchetype aka Mental Wreckage – Machine
02. Warchetype aka Mental Wreckage – Faceless

Now available at Spotify and the Noisj Bandcamp page:

Turmoil

TRM-EP-059. Mental Wreckage – Turmoil

Mental Wreckage comeback tour 2020 pt. III: After well-received EPs on META4 and Dark Descent we think Traumatic is the obvious choice for this one!

Three all new tracks that are intensely rhythmic, hypnotically repetitive and very deeply atmospheric – just raw enough to remain unmistakably Mental Wreckage. And in case this cutting-edge industrial marriage of noise and melody hasn’t finished you off properly, Demanufacturer provides a banging, teeth-grinding (and supposedly final) remix of MW’s classic track “Lawaai”, harking back to the good ole’ Symp.tom days. Turmoil inevitable!

01. Mental Wreckage – No Pressure
02. Mental Wreckage – Severed (Parts 1 & 2)
03. Mental Wreckage – Not Human
04. Mental Wreckage – Lawaai (One Last Remix by Demanufacturer)

Now available at Spotify and the Traumatic Bandcamp page:

Rawsome

DD00108. Moleculez & Mental Wreckage – Rawsome

2020 is the year Mental Wreckage returns for good, after his EP with resurrected tracks for META4 he graces Dark. Descent. – and brings along another producer who shaped industrial hardcore back in the days, the mighty Moleculez!

Oh the intensity you can create when you know how to use simple elements properly: Washes of noise and a kick constantly gliding off the track are all it needs to render “Algorythm” most urgent, and it will leave you with a weird ring in your ears. And “Crushed by Noise Pt. 2” harks back to a 2010 EP of Moleculez & Mental Wreckage with The Relic and is nothing less than a brutal rhythm noise banger, simply rawsome!

  1. Moleculez & Mental Wreckage – Algorhythm
  2. Moleculez & Mental Wreckage – Crushed by Noise (Part 2)
