Now that my Defqon.1 performance has been made public, I also have another announcement to make:

As most of you know, last year I decided to take a break from DJ-ing. I needed this time off to re-evaluate certain priorities & goals in life, as I have changed a lot over the course of the years. I’ve been pondering things like: Who am I really? What do I really want in life? Do I do certain things because I genuine like it / because others want me to / because I need to prove myself? etc etc. A kind of “sabbatical”, if you will.

One of the things I’ve found out was that I *did* miss to play on music events. I love the scene, the people involved, the energy, the rush of seeing an audience going nuts on my own music. But too much and too many times a year has proven to be an overkill for me.

So I have made a decision for as long as I see fit:
I will now officially be playing on music events & festivals again.. But my DJ-sets will be more exclusively from now on. This means I will only be playing around 3-4 times a year, on events that really interest me.

On Saturday 9 February, the dark and raw beats reign @ Waregem, Belgium! It’s time to celebrate “Into the Dark Lands”, which is the very own record label party of Dark Descent, hosted by New Electronic Order. I will be playing a DJ-set there, other artists who will be giving you serious ear damage are: Embrionyc, Razor Edge, Sei2ure, The Relic, Raum 107, T.P.R.O.E., Carnage, Cluster and Sound Abuse. I will be playing at Intersection on 26 January in Baroeg, Rotterdam (NL). Intersection is a new party concept for styles like Drum & bass and Industrial hardcore Crossbreed, and is the idea of several party-minded people from the TOA-topic (The Outside Agency fan topic) on the forum of Partyflock.nl, myself included.

Headliner will be The Outside Agency (2 hour set!) followed by myself as Warchetype aka Mental Wreckage and a talented selection of other DJs to make it an awesome party. Entry tickets will only cost 10 euros and will help to ensure more editions of this party in the future!

I’m very happy to announce that I will be performing at Ground Zero Festival again this year, which takes place on September 1 @ Recreatiegebied Bussloo during the night. This time I will be performing on the Main Stage, with Insane DJ Mafia.

Insane DJ Mafia is essentially a DJ-Team that consists out of all the artists of Insane Booking Agency. Its formation is random and different each time. Artists that have performed under the name of Insane DJ Mafia so far are: Petrochemical, Delta 9, Cemon Victa, Stocker, TimeTwister, DJ Fight, Hasty Boy, Cor-Tex and myself.

On the 29th of August I will be playing at two very big festivals. The first one will be in the afternoon, at the Thunderdome stage on MYSTERYLAND. I’m honoured to play for such a famous event and it’s safe to say that I’m very excited! As if that’s not enough they’ve scheduled me for a bigass 2 hour set. The industrial hardcore label Symp.tom, founded back in 2004, represents a dark and alternative side of hardcore. Over the past 5 years the label has brought us various slamming releases by its main artists Mental Wreckage, Mute. and The Relic.

Well- respected artists such as Moleculez, The Outside Agency and Mindustries have also made a guest appearance on either a vinyl release or the Symp.toms CD series. The last edition (volume 4) of this successful series was released in December of last year and got raving reviews throughout the entire scene.

This year Nightmare Outdoor will have a separate Industrial area for the first time (previous edition combined industrial and terror) and so it was an obvious choice to let Symp.tom host this area. Main producers of the label – The Relic and Mental Wreckage – will show their very best skills in 2 separate DJ sets and will join forces together to perform under their Dual Mechanism guise. Joining them are a selection of top artist that closely represent and complement the sound of the label. Altogether they will provide the ingredients for a thrilling day at the Industrial area at the Luttenbergerweg in Hellendoorn.
